The "Perfect Learning Opportunity"
When Dell assigned me to a $2M contract about to be canceled due to poor performance, management said it was the perfect place to learn because "I couldn't make it any worse." Instead of accepting failure, I saw an opportunity to understand what wasn't working and build something better. That "failed" contract became a $10M success story, eventually generating almost $100M in additional client sales.
From Stalled to Soaring
A major healthcare network's $10M digital transformation had been stalled for six months with zero production releases. While others saw an expensive failure, I saw a team that needed direction and a process that needed refinement. Within 60 days, we delivered the first production releases and transformed a 30-person effort into a high-performing agile success story.
Innovation Through Adversity
Currently developing an AI-powered resume optimization system after being laid off - my response to experiencing firsthand how broken our hiring systems are. Rather than complaining about the broken hiring system and doubling down on applications per day, I'm building solutions that help candidates overcome ATS limitations and help companies find the perfect talent they're missing. One of my mentors noted: "It's so interesting that your response is not to give in to what's broken, but instead to try to solve the problem for everyone."
